Note

I wanted to go on record to state that those of you only seeing what some people have chosen to make public now is not the whole story. Tina and I tried for a very, VERY long time to accommodate Alicia when it came to what was happening with our muses. This included hiding from certain people she didn't want to play with or found annoying, constantly giving her muses "time" to sort through their feelings and issues, playing as slowly as she needed, and even offering to give up an important relationship to help fix one of hers. But she never wanted to work with us. I suspected it was because she just didn't want me in the picture at all, and that was confirmed when I saw Tina's post about this alternate universe where my muses would be blindsided by OOC actions on the part of her muses. Whether her dislike of me was due to envy about my writing or jealousy that Tina had made a new friend, I don't know, but both seem equally ridiculous to me. We're all excellent writers and Tina will never have any other best friend but Alicia. I think everyone knows that.

The cause of my upset stemmed from the fact that the post proclaiming the desire to work things out was written after the decision about the AU had already been made. It was all for show and neglected to portray the ways Tina and I had been willing to bend over backwards for her. She knew exactly what was on the table but chose to make it seem as if it had never been discussed. In my opinion, it was deliberately deceitful and underhanded.

I have never done anything but go out of my way to accommodate Tina and Alicia in our play. You can ask them. Tina would tell you the truth. That is why all of this is so hurtful. Alicia's personal dislike of the way my muses and I get along with Tina and her muses is what led to all of this, and now I have given her an excuse to shut me out. It's what she wanted from the start.

Anyway, take it as you will. I can't control what you choose to believe. If you're still friended, you are the only ones I want to deal with anymore.

comments

Charloft Cupid Challenge - Flashback

Words:
one night stand
smitten
sex
pose
tempt
affair

***

"What're you thinking?"

Will smiles at his new husband. "Just remembering how smitten I was when we met."

Evan chuckles and wraps his arms around him. "I remember that. I felt the same way."

"I'm not sure you did," Will says, nuzzling his neck. "I literally fell in love with you the second you smiled at me."

"And why don't you think I felt the same way?"

"Because you put all those restrictions on me."

"I did?"

"Yeah, don't you remember your ground rules?"

Evan thinks for a minute, then laughs. "Jeez, yeah, I do." He clears his throat, then begins to recite them with a affected tone. "Number one, no one night stands. Number two, no kiss until the third date. Number three, no sex until we really know one another."

Will giggles and rests his head on Evan's shoulder. "Those are them. You said you didn't want to have some sleazy affair with me. You wanted a real relationship because you couldn't imagine having anything else with me. You were so romantic."

"Were?"

"Are."

"Well, now that we're officially married, I guess I can come clean," Evan says, rubbing his hands over Will's back.

Will draws back to look at him. "Come clean about what?"

"When I met you, I wanted to drag you off to the closest hotel and screw you sideways."

"You did?" Will asks, eyes wide.

"Uh huh. You were so sweet and gorgeous, and those eyes and that mouth... God, I was so tempted to break all my rules just to get a taste."

"So why didn't you?"

"Because, as attracted as I was to you physically, I also knew there was something else there that deserved more than a roll in the hay."

"So you decided to pose as a gentleman to make me fall in love with you before we got freaky?"

Evan laughs. "I'd like to think that I actually am a gentleman, but, yeah, something like that."

Will gives Evan a quick kiss, then pushes him onto his back so he can straddle his hips. "Well, in that case, I would like to thank you, Mr. Porter-Whitlock. Falling in love with you without the pressure of trying to see how fast I could get into your pants made me feel a closer connection to you than anyone I've ever been with."

Gripping Will's thighs, Evan smiles up at him. "So, my evil plan to make you need me more than everyone else in your life worked?"

"Yeah, I guess it did." Will leans down to kiss him. "Thank you," he whispers.

"For what?"

"Loving me."

Evan smiles and returns Will's kiss. "And you know I'm never gonna stop."

"I know."

Will sighs softly when his husband slides his arms around him and holds him close. This is love.

***

| 468 words

comments

Charloft Bingo - Wise Men

[Bendy timed to the night after Christmas.]

Will's proud of the job he's been doing at not thinking about Evan every single moment of the day. He's been missing his husband terribly this holiday season, and is so grateful to have a house full of friends to keep him busy and distracted. But it's the moments like these, the quiet times when everyone is sleeping and he's sitting in his office nursing a scotch that he thinks about Evan the most.

His sweet Evan. All the way around the world, fighting god knows who and facing god knows what danger. He hasn't been able to see him for a dream walk lately, and the worry gnaws at his gut. Luke says it's because Evan can't stop and sleep deeply enough to have them meet up, and Will has no reason not to believe him.

Sighing, Will gets up from the sofa and walks over to his desk to turn on his computer. He pulls up the folder that has the mp3s Evan managed to send him weeks earlier. They're silly things like him telling Will bad jokes or singing his and Will's favorite songs, and no one else has heard them but him. Selecting the one labeled "love," Will puts on his headphones and starts to play the file.

Evan's voice is soft and sweet as he sings to his husband, informing him that wise men say only fools rush in, and Will feels as if his heart is going to break. He closes his eyes, picturing Evan right there in front of him, declaring his love for him just before he pulls him into his arms and kisses him.

The tears fall unnoticed, dripping onto the desk as Will holds his head in his hands and prays for Evan's safe return.

comments

Charloft Bingo - Winter

"This is just wrong."

Will grins and opens one eye to look at his best friend, Peter. "What is?"

"This." Peter indicates Will's backyard where the two of them are currently sunbathing in the nude. "It's winter. We shouldn't be working on our tans."

"Hah," Will says, closing his eye and relaxing again on his poolside lounge chair. "You're just saying that so you won't be tempted to move out here permanently."

"I might be opening an office in L.A. but there's no way I'd leave the East Coast. Winter should have snow, you should be able to wear sweaters and gloves and scarves."

"But I never have to scrape ice off my windshield or worry about road salt damaging my car."

"And you never get to enjoy hot cocoa in front of a fireplace."

"I do. It does actually get cold in L.A., you know."

"Uh huh," Peter chuckles. "That cold, as you call it, is usually a warm spell for a lot of places with severe winters."

"Which is supposed to be a selling point?"

Peter closes his eyes. "You can't tell me you don't miss the snow."

"If I ever do, I can drive to a ski resort or go to the mall where they have that snow machine."

"Is there anything about this town that isn't fake?"

"Hey, the resorts are real," Will laughs. "They sometimes have to make snow when there isn't enough for the season, but other than that..."

"I'll stick to my winter wonderland, thanks."

"And potential heart attacks while shoveling the sidewalks."

"At least we have real seasons and not all this incessant sunshine," Peter counters.

Will sighs and sits up. "You're right," he says. "Real winters are wonderful and there's nothing like buildng snowmen or having snowball fights or snuggling in front of a roaring fire."

Peter opens his eyes and looks at him with a teasing smile. "I knew you'd have to admit you miss all that."

"Yup," Will says, getting up from his lounge chair so he can sit on the edge of Peter's. "I guess I'll just have to deal with all this warmth by distracting myself with icy rum drinks and rubbing suntan lotion all over your body." He leans down to give him a kiss.

Peter smiles. "Well, when you put it that way," he says, reaching to pull Will down to him, "I guess there is a lot to be said for L.A. winters."

comments
